The goal of FF7 Central is to be something of a hub for the FF7 fandom here on Dreamwidth, a place to connect to other fans, celebrate fanworks for the Compilation, and host themed events. Originally hosted on Tumblr, and in response to the current threat of content purges on Tumblr, it was deemed wise to find another fandom-friendly space for people to share and promote content and reach out to one another in the community.
